Access Manager Technical Info Page


Access Manager comes with two deployment choices:

  • Individual components (Identity Server, Access Gateway, Analytics Server and Administration Console), each of which can be installed and managed in separate servers. Access Manager 4.4 SP1 onwards, Administration Console, Identity Server and Access Gateway can also be deployed as services on Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2 and Microsoft Azure.
  • Access Manager Appliance, a soft appliance based on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, that bundles pre-configured Identity Server, Access Gateway, and Administration Console in one server. Analytics Server can be installed and managed on a separate server.

Additionally, Access Gateway component is offered as two choices:

  • Access Gateway Appliance (A SUSE Linux Enterprise Server based soft appliance) and
  • Access Gateway Service

Access Gateway Appliance

Access Gateway Appliance runs 64-bit operating system on x86-64 hardware supported by SLES 11 SP4.

Hardware required:

  • 4 GB RAM
  • Dual CPU or Core (3.0 GHz or comparable chip)
  • 100 GB hard disk

Analytics Server

System Requirements for storing 500 Events Per Second (EPS):

  • CPU: Two lntel(R) Xeon(R) CPU ES-2650 O@ 2.00GHz (4 core) CPUs (8 cores total), no hyper-threading
  • Primary storage: 10 x 300 GB SAS 15k RPM (Hardware RAID 10)
  • Memory: 24 GB

Access Manager Appliance

Access Manager Appliance runs 64-bit operating system on x86-64 hardware supported by SLES 11 SP4.

  • 8 GB RAM
  • Dual CPU or core (3.0 GHz or comparable chip)
  • 100 GB hard disk
  • 2 GB to 10 GB hard disk per protected resource
