By default, the shutdown.sh file in /opt/novell/idm/jboss/bin is not executable. This prevents the start-jboss.sh and stop-jboss.sh scripts in /opt/novell/idm from working properly. To fix this problem, open a Gnome Terminal and execute the following commands:
From the menu, select .
Enter su idmsa, then specify the password for the idmsa user.
Enter chmod +x /opt/novell/idm/jboss/bin/shutdown.sh.
Enter exit to close the Gnome Terminal.
