When using Identity Validator 2.0 and sharing test suite files among a group of developers and testers, consider the following tips:
Ensure to limit the number of workstations that require access, as the Identity Validator 2.0 supports authentication for a single administrator account.
Do not allow multiple people to edit and execute the same test suite file simultaneously. When someone makes a change to a test suite file, it overwrites the file on the server. When a test suite file is executed, any variables that receive values will be written to the test suite file on the server. This means that if two people are executing a file at the same time, the results will not be predictable since variables may contain values from the other execution.
Use the Import or Export feature found on the Tests tab. This allows you to export selected tests, and all connections, and all referenced variables in the test suite file, which can then be imported into another test suite file. This allows you to share connections, variables, and tests with others who can then modify them for their own purposes. They can then be merged into a master test suite file by exporting them from various sources and importing them back into a master test suite file.
NOTE:When exporting a test that uses a template, it will not export the template unless the template is selected.
