NOTE:This release does not support upgrading Designer from an earlier version, so if you have an older version installed, you will need to uninstall it before installing Designer 4.10. Also, the built-in auto-update and offline update features cannot be used to upgrade to Designer 4.10.
Log in as an administrator to the server where Designer is installed.
To create a backup copy of your projects, export your projects.
For more information about exporting, see Exporting a Project
in the Designer Administration Guide for OpenTextâ„¢ Identity Manager CE 24.4 (v4.10).
To uninstall, first close Designer, then uninstall Designer according to the operating system:
Use the Control Panel utility for adding and removing programs. For example, on Windows Server 2008, click Programs and Features. Right-click Designer for OpenText Identity Manager, then click Uninstall.
Launch the Designer installation program from the Identity_Manager_4.10_Designer_Windows.zip file. (<Designer zip extracted location>\designer_install\install.exe)
Follow the steps in the wizard until the installation process completes.
After Designer 4.10 is installed, you must import all Designer projects from the older version. When you initiate the import process, Designer runs the Project Converter Wizard, which converts the older projects to the current version. In the wizard, select Copy project into the workspace. For more information about the Project Converter, see Converting Earlier Projects in the Designer Administration Guide for OpenTextâ„¢ Identity Manager CE 24.4 (v4.10).
