16.0 Managing Groups

A group consists of users and other accounts that have a common characteristics. For example, the Finance group consisting of all employees in the Finance department.

Groups can be searched based on its description. However, Administrators who have access to the Settings page can customize the attributes for which a group entity can be searched. This means that when searching for a specific group while assigning a role to a group, making a group as the owner of a resource, or performing a simple search in the Groups page, the application will return the names of the group as a result that match the searched attribute. For more information, see Entity Settings in the OpenText™ Identity Manager CE 24.4 (v4.10) - Administrator’s Guide to the Identity Applications.
